April – Matt Myer, Old Dominion Freight Line
Matt has been a professional driver for 6 years all with ODFL. In the 6 years he has been driving he has no accidents. As a city driver in a large metro area this is a tougher feat than you can imagine. Matt is a current Wisconsin Road Team Captain visiting schools and doing other community education projects.
Matt was the Wisconsin 5-axle winner and Rookie of the Year.
Matt lives with his family in Mukwanago.
May – David Drayna, W&A Distribution Services, Inc
David has been a professional driver for 4 years with no accidents. Prior to driving truck David served as a Jefferson County Deputy, North American Standard Truck inspector and Patrol Field Training Officer.
His commitment to excellence has led to him making sure in his DVIR’s he has reported things, some which have changed the way the company does some things for safety.
David serves the community also, in his 3rd term and Jefferson County Board Supervisor, he is the Treasurer of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Loyal Few Enforcement Motor Cycle Club consisting of active duty and retired law enforcement. They raise money for fallen officers and officers or their families who need help in time of hardship.
Dave and his wife, Carolina, have 4 children and reside in Jefferson.
June – Roy Sobeck, Skinner Tranfer
Roy is a 56 year driving veteran and has drove well over 6million miles.
He received the million-mile reward from Badger Express and eventually became an owner operator. He received an award from OOIDA for 46 years of safe accident-free driving.
Roy came back to Skinner Transfer to semi retire. His professionalism is at the highest level. He often speaks up about doing things correctly. He even went thru the Train the Trainer Course to be a part time driver trainer for us.
Roy joined the United States Army in 1963 and served until 1968. In May of 1968 Roy started his truck driving career. In 1972 he came to work for Skinner Transfer he then moved onto Badger Express.
Roy served on the La Valle WI Volunteer Fire Department for 30years
He has been a member of the American Legion for 30 years as well. He makes coffee every Thursday morning for the legion members at post 242
He has been a member of the Zion Lutheran Church for 20 years
Roy has been married to his wife Marcella for 53 years they have one son, 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren.
