Topic: New Food Safety Transport Rules
In this seminar we will be discussing the “Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food regulation,” which is effective April of 2017. This rule applies to most carriers that transport food that is not completely enclosed in packaging or that requires temperature control. Carriers transporting other food products can also be affected by these regulations, due to contractual language that is based on these regulations assigning specific responsibilities to the carrier. We will be discussing the requirements the regulation will place on carriers, the requirements that shippers can place on carriers based on the rule, and what carriers that are covered by this rule should be doing to prepare and comply.
