Emmy Myers, Trafficking Survivor, Lacey’s Hope Project
Lacey’s Hope Project was started by a sex trafficking survivor, Emmy. Today, Emmy is a leader, community advocate, speaker, and source of knowledge and inspiration for others. She founded Lacey’s Hope Project to help end the social justice issues of sex trafficking and drug abuse. Named in tribute to a friend who lost her life to a trafficker, Lacey’s Hope Project represents the promise of change, restoration and healing.

Wendy Smith – Washington Co. Anti-Trafficking Advocates
Wendy Smith and her husband Jason Wix founded WCATA to educate others about human trafficking issues happening in their community, to offer networking opportunities for other advocates and organizations, survivors and families of victims/survivors, and also to advocate for those who’ve been exploited. Wendy also serves on the Board of Directors for the Franciscan Peacemakers in Milwaukee, an organization that serves women who are being sexually exploited and or struggling with addictions.

Besides her many speaking engagements, Wendy and Jason organize free, monthly presentations on the many layers of human trafficking at the Jack Russell Memorial Library in Hartford, WI.
