On the very snowy morning of March 1st, 2017, WMCA President Neal Kedzie, WMCA’s lobbyist Marc Bentley, and WMCA members consisting of trucking executives and allied trucking members met with legislators at the Capitol before attending WMC’s Business day.

While at the Capital, Jen Esser, Assistant Deputy Secretary WisDOT who addressed the recent DOT audit report, Rep. Dale Kooyenga, who is a member of Joint Finance and responsible for writing the Assembly version of the transportation budget, and Rep. Spiros, V.C. Assembly Transportation Committee who updated us on his work with workers comp held a discussion with our group concerning the transportation budget, DOT audit, fuel tax, tolling and more.

Following our time at the Capital we returned to the Monona Terrace to participate in WMC Business Day’s speakers and luncheon. Their speakers included: Jonah Goldberg, National Review Sr. Editor; Hugh Hewitt, Political Commentator; Kimberley Strassel, Wall Street Journal Editorial Board, Jay Timmon, Pres/CEO National Assoc. of Manufacturers and Gov. Scott Walker.
A special thank you to all those who attended and to Badger Coaches who supplied the luxurious bus shuttle from the Dutch Mill Park and Ride to the Monona Terrace and back.
