The Wisconsin Road Team has spent a considerable amount of time in different schools in the state, providing safety tips and explaining how to “share the road” with trucks to students. Members of the team also are invited to speak to companies and civic groups. Examples of the positive responses to the program from teachers and others who have invited the Road Team to speak are provided below:

“Just a short note to inform you that the two-day visit was a tremendous success. I was especially impressed with the attitudes and warm personalities of (the Road Team members). They emitted a sincere feeling of good character, courtesy, clean living and, most of all, the first rate image that I know you want truck drivers to emulate.”

Cathy Monahan, Driver Education Instructor Fort Atkinson High School

“Your Road Team was professional and well versed in the area of trucking and the relationship of trucks and autos…. It is a valuable asset to my class. The professionals that run the program from drivers, coordinators, to the owners make it something that I hope continues and grows.”

Allen Jacobi, Driver Education Teacher Waukesha North High School

“The students really enjoyed the presentation and talked about it the next couple of days in class. Also, I thought (the Road Team member) did a fantastic job as a speaker and would really appreciate it if he could come back next semester.”

Tary Trepasso, Driver Education Instructor Iola-Scandinavia Public Schools

“Just a note to tell you how impressed I was with the Wisconsin Road Team… The kids were impressed with the vast amount of information you shared with them regarding the trucking industry. You and your gang really opened some eyes to the problems that exist on our roads today.”

Bob Behrens, Driver Education Instructor Delavan-Darien High School

“Your Road Team provided our students with valuable information on the Motor Carrier industry. (They) did an excellent job with our students concerning the auto and truck traffic hazards. They were very knowledgeable in the presentation.”

Mike Hoffman, Driver Education Teacher Neillsville High School

“Your presentation was outstanding… My students and I learned a lot from your presentation. And we are now aware of the importance of this industry as well as the job opportunities that exist for young people in the field. Thanks a bunch for your insight into a vital link of American Commerce.”

Jack Saarela, VICA Advisor Kenosha Bradford High School

“On behalf of my driver education classes, I would like to thank the Wisconsin Motor Carriers Association and (the Road Team member) for the fine presentation we recently enjoyed on sharing the road with trucks… I feel my students learned a great deal about highway safety and the trucking industry.”

Rick Fraaza, Driver Education Instructor Palmyra-Eagle Area School District

“I was especially pleased with the presenters (the Road Team members). I commented to them that not only did their presentation bring forth the view of interacting with semi-trucks, but reinforced some of the principles of good driving and the ‘benefits’ of a good clean driving record.”

Ken Edwardson, Driver Education Instructor Burlington Senior High School

“What a great program! (Road Team member) is a very knowledgeable and personable individual. The members of our club were very interested in his talk and asked a lot of questions. The trucking industry was well represented.”

Jim Fredrickson DeForest Rotary

“Thank you very much for your help in securing the services of (Road Team member) to present his safety program to our employees . . . He gave his presentation on three days to a total of about 320 Sanitation Division employees, with the majority of the audience consisting of driver/loaders. These men and women are responsible for waste collection and snowplowing, and appreciated hearing from an outside professional driver that they too are professionals and should take pride in their work
